What is a wedding video?

Why I was crazy enough to start a vlog.

I had a bit of an idea at the start of the year on perhaps doing a vlog, but I was so scared of the thought of a lens staring at me and not having a clue what to say while the camera continuously rolled. It wasn’t a new years resolution or anything, I just wanted to do something a bit different and completely out of my comfort zone. I wanted to make my business a little more personal and I want people to see there is in fact a human behind the social media updates or quite literally, behind the camera.

But what was I even going to talk about? Well, I was recently inspired by a vlog I came across on Youtube. It wasn’t anything to do with cameras or photography or weddings. You guessed it, it was about plants. (Sorry I know I go on) Cut a long story short, I wanted advice on a plant that looked like it was on it’s last legs – or stems? Yes, even a freak like me can still kill a plant *cry cry*

I turned to Youtube for advice and came across pages and pages of videos full of information on all these different plants. If anyone is interested, I was particularly drawn to one entrepeneur and her videos – Summer Rayne Oakes and her “Plant one on me” series (yes I believe that is her real name!) Look her up if you want all the plant advice as she’s incredible!

So this got me thinking; I have immediately turned to Youtube for advice. This is surely something that most people do nowadays when they need tutorials for certain things or they want advice themselves. Thinking back to my enquiries I receive, most of the time there will be at least one question about wedding videography or photography. So I thought, why don’t I create a series of videos answering the FAQ’s I seem to get quite a lot.

I think wedding photography and videography can be a very overwhelming thing to think about, especially if you have absolutely no idea where to even start. It’s such a big investment and you’ve probably been scared shitless by some wedding group on Facebook with a wedding photographer/videographer horror story. You just need to do a bit of research! I know a great photographer/ videographer I can highly recommend..

So without further ado, hopefully this first video will help people understand more about what a wedding video entails and will give you all a better understanding about the way I personally do things. I chat a bit about my style, turnaround and a brief intro on my equipment.

I would love to know if there is anything in particular you’d like me to talk about next and if there’s anything you really want to know!
